Adult Instruction
How many lessons would an adult need to take?
There is no minimum or maximum number of driving lessons for an adult. However, an estimation of how many lessons might be needed will be determined after the first drive lesson. Typically, if an adult has driving experience, it may take between 1-3 driving lessons. If an adult does not have driving experience, it may take between 6-12 driving lessons. Time frames are based on the individual's grasp of the behind-the-wheel concepts and fundamentals.
We suggest at least six lessons, those being teenagers moving from their permit to license, for adults with no or limited driving experience.

How long does it take to learn how to drive?
Every driver in training is different, but the overall success will depend on a combination of Behind the Wheel sessions and practice outside the sessions. The state of Kentucky requires a minimum of 60 hours of drive time for drivers under the age of 18 before testing for their intermediate license. Our 6-hour curriculum is designed to teach skills that must be implemented over those 60 hours of practice.
Does my insurance company offer a discount for taking driver's ed/BTW?
Most insurance companies require that you take behind-the-wheel training and/or online classroom training to receive a insurance discount. Insurance companies want you to not only know how to drive but they want you to understand the rules of the road. We recommend that you call your insurance company to find out what discounts are offered and if there are any requirements.
